Ukrainian IC New Church Shrine Building Project - Exterior View

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK

Last weekend, in preparation for Mother Teresa’s canonization, I read materials related to this exemplary saint’s life.  Among other things, I read about a Bishop who asked Mother Teresa, “How do you get reassurances that the Almighty God answers your prayers and establishes houses for the poor at a time when you do not have money?”  She replied saying, “I pray expressing gratitude to God who responds to my prayers, and then I ask Him whatever I want.”

Having read this and knowing that our fundraising campaign for our new church and shrine is moving along quite slowly, I decided to ask Mother Teresa for her intercession and to pray as she did.  I prayed, thanking God for all the blessings, graces, and help He and the Mother of God have provided us and also thanked him for hearing this prayer. I then told Him we could use a large sum of money at this time to keep the project moving along and to renew hope and determination in those who are supporting this project along.

The next day one of our prayerful parishioners came to me and told me that her sister, who is not a parishioner, has decided to make a donation in the sum of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) towards our Building Fund.

I ask you all to please continue responding to our request for your aid in helping us build our new church and shrine.  If you can pray daily for this cause with confidence, if you can help out with the fund raising, or if you can make or continue making donations towards this project, please do so.  Thank you in advance for your support.

Dear friends: I pray for Miguel, who was in a coma, and the Lord has restored his consciousness and for his son Juan to find work and for his relatives.
    Blessings.
